- First the cuts between the pieces with the 2 mm end mill, then the recess in the frame, finally cut out the circle, frame and bottom. Secure the sheet with double-sided tape so the pieces stay in place.
- Free the parts at the holding tabs with a utility knife or fine saw and sand the tab remains flush.
- Lightly break the edges with sandpaper (grit 120, then 240) and remove burrs.
Assembly and final touches
- Glue the frame onto the bottom: this makes the tray into which all pieces fit together.
- Lay animals, figures and signs from the pieces and trace them; the back of the pieces can be painted in a contrasting colour.
- Finally oil, wax or varnish; for toys use oils or varnishes that are saliva-resistant according to EN 71-3.
