Carving and finishing
- Clamp the workpiece flat on the spoilboard or secure it with double-sided tape, and set the origin as shown in the carving assistant.
- Engrave grid, numbers, ladders and slides, then cut out board and pawns.
- Free the parts at the holding tabs with a utility knife or fine saw and sand the tab remains flush.
- Lightly break the edges with sandpaper (grit 120, then 240) and remove burrs.
Assembly and final touches
- Colour in the ladders and slides, the pawns in four colours. Play goes from 1 to 100 in a zigzag.
- Land at the foot of a ladder and you climb up; land at the top of a slide and you slide down. The first to land exactly on 100 wins.
