An alarm stops the machine immediately and locks further commands. Afterwards the position is often no longer reliably known. Read the cause, fix it and clear the alarm with Unlock ($X) or Homing ($H). After alarms 1, 3 and 6 always home again and check the zero point.
ALARM:1 · Hard limit triggered
What to do: The position is probably lost. Move the axis off the switch, unlock and home.
ALARM:2 · Target outside the work area (soft limit)
What to do: The position is kept. Unlock and check the zero point or the job.
ALARM:3 · Reset while moving
What to do: The position is probably lost. Unlock, home and set the zero point again.
ALARM:4 · Probe failed: the probe was already closed before starting
What to do: Check probe and cable (clip on the bit, plate under the bit).
ALARM:5 · Probe failed: no contact within the probe distance
What to do: Move the bit closer to the plate or increase the probe distance.
ALARM:6 · Homing aborted (reset during the cycle)
What to do: Unlock and start homing again.
ALARM:7 · Homing aborted: safety door opened
What to do: Close the door, unlock and start again.
ALARM:8 · Homing failed: limit switch not released when pulling off
What to do: Increase pull-off ($27) or check the switch.
ALARM:9 · Homing failed: limit switch not found
What to do: Check limit switches, wiring and search distance ($130–$132). Does the machine have limit switches at all?
ALARM:10 · Emergency stop triggered
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Release the emergency stop, then reset and unlock.
ALARM:11 · Homing required
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Home first.
ALARM:12 · Limit switch active at start-up
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Move the axis off the switch and unlock.
ALARM:13 · Probe protection triggered
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Check the probe.
ALARM:14 · Spindle does not reach its speed
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Check spindle and VFD.
ALARM:15 · Homing failed: second limit switch not found
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Check the switch of the dual axis.
ALARM:16 · Power-on self-test failed
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Restart the controller; if it persists, ask the manufacturer.
ALARM:17 · Motor fault reported
grblHAL and FluidNC only
What to do: Check motor drivers and wiring.
