Part is too big or too small
- Wrong cut type: for parts with a fixed size use Outside contour, for holes Inside contour. On the line removes half the bit width.
- Wrong bit diameter in the project: with a 3 mm bit in the collet but 3.175 mm set, every contour is off by 0.09 mm.
- Everything off by the same factor: check steps per mm in the controller (Controller settings).
Part is shifted or skewed
- Lost steps: feed too high, step down too deep or a dull bit. The motors skip steps, everything after that is shifted. Reduce feed and step down.
- Tighten loose belts or set screws on the motors.
- Workpiece moved: clamp it more firmly.
Too deep or not through
- Probe Z zero again; check the plate thickness (Probing Z).
- Compare the material thickness in the project with the real sheet (Workpiece).
- Uneven spoilboard: surface it once.
- Bit slips up in the collet: tighten it more.
Burn marks, melted plastic
The bit rubs instead of cutting: increase feed or lower speed; the chip load should not be too small (Feed rate). For acrylic use a single-flute bit.
Frayed edges
- Frayed top edge: use a downcut or compression bit.
- Try climb instead of conventional cutting.
- A light finishing pass at the end helps (offset tool or a second contour with little depth).
Bit breaks
Step down too deep, feed too high, speed too low, spindle spin-up time too short, or the bit rapids into a clamp (Safe height).
Alarm or error
The app explains every alarm and error of the controller in plain language. Clicking Look up in the G-code reference leads to the explanation and fix. All numbers: Alarms and Error messages.
